Capstone Statement of Intent

MY CAPSTONE PROJECT
My intention for the capstone project is to open a recreation center to decrease the suicidal rate in teens and increase low self esteem. Professional counselors and group sessions with other teens would be available for free to teens in need. By opening the recreation center we would lower the suicidal rates for teens while also increasing self esteem and promoting a healthy lifestyle for teens.
I have three main ideas that I want to use for my capstone project, two of which would I would have to learn how to create in my IMED class. The first thing I would need to learn to use would be Google Sketch. By using Google sketch I would be able to design my recreation center as a 3D model. This would be beneficial because the judges could get a clear picture of how the recreation center would look. This would also make my project look professional.
The second type of media that I would use is making a Website. In this website people would be able to read about the recreation center. The website would also include a section for teens to go to for advice etc. Lastly the website would also include a place where people could go and give donations.
Lastly I would provide pamphlets for the judges to read. The pamphlet would include information about the recreation center and a section for teens to read if they are in need.
On the day of my presentation I would have a table with my pamphlets, web site, and Google sketch up for the judges to see. In addition to the pamphlets, web site, and Google sketch up I would also have a poster with more information and the benefits that the recreation center would provide to teens.
